2 lb. ground chuck 2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese 8 oz. can crescent rolls 1/3 c. parmesan cheese 16 oz. pizza sauce ½ c. chopped onions (optional) 2 Tbsp. butter (melted) Pepperoni and other pizza toppings (i.e. green pepper, mushrooms, etc.)
Brown beef (and onion if using), drain grease. Add pizza sauce. Simmer. Spread meat sauce mixture in 9X13 pan. Top with pepperoni and other pizza toppings (as much as you like). Layer on cheese. Unroll crescent rolls, but do not separate into the triangles. Keep crescents in one long sheet of dough, and place on top of the cheese layer. You may have to stretch the dough slightly and carefully to make it cover the entire 9X13 pan. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 375 for 20 – 30 minutes. Crescent dough will turn golden brown; but watch not to burn. Serve with breadsticks or extra crescent rolls.
Great to make ahead or to warm up later.
